User Research

User Research

To start this project, I conducted user interviews with individuals who have experience purchasing furniture using existing online marketplaces. I found that participants had similar pain points.

Through my research, I learned that this app's ideal user would be a young adult who wants to save money on furniture for their new home.

Before starting the design process, I mapped out the user flow of a user's journey from opening the app and searching for an item, to paying for the item and bringing it home.

This process allowed me to fully grasp the necessary steps to help users feel confident in conducting transactions with strangers online.

Testing the Design

Testing the Design

During the testing phase of my design, I focused on using unmoderated tests with a group of participants who have experience purchasing second-hand furniture.

Through this process, I found that all participants found the design to be easy to navigate and were more comfortable proceeding with a purchase knowing there are security measures in place.

As the project came to an end, I learned the importance of gaining insight from potential users and refining the designs based on their feedback. After completing the designs from a buyer's perspective, my next steps are to create an experience from the seller's perspective.
